If you're available, please come!! We really need fresh ideas and as much help as possible. Our 20th reunion is just 2.5 years away, but more importantly, we're responsible for the entire Alumni Lū`au night in 2029 and we don't have close to enough funds to pull that off. Let's work together now so we're not stressing the year before we host!KS Class of 2000http://www.blogger.com/profile/08228311711380209923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508419915168368575.post-58779510562909798232015-05-21T13:48:00.001-10:002021-03-07T22:07:59.637-10:0005/20/2015 Class Update

Hey Everyone,

Be prepared as this is one of many emails that will start flooding your inboxes until Alumni Week is pau. Thanks in advance for your understanding!

See the below message that I just posted to our class FB account. I highly encourage everyone to find "Kamehameha Class of 2000" and request to join our group so you can see updates, pics, etc. I won't always be able to send out info through the class email account so following our group will keep you current.

Also, see the exact document given to all the class reps from the Alumni group (attached below).

Posted to FB:

"FYI: The Alumni group is stressing the importance of absolutely NO alcohol at any of the campus events (except for Lu‘au where there will be a booth set up for purchases).

You aren't even allowed to bring in any outside drinks (soda included) except for clear plastic bottles of water.

If caught with outside drinks they will:

1) dump your drink(s) in the trash
2) hold onto your hydroflasks (or other reusable container) until the event is pau & it will be returned to you, and/or
3) escort you off campus

I know this may seem like a bummer but last year's classes really messed up & the higher ups are getting pissy. If any class screws up this year, they may use it as an excuse to NO LONGER HOLD ALUMNI WEEK ON CAMPUS. That would really suck so let's do our part & be respectful of the rules.

***Drinking "reasonable amounts of alcohol" within the dorms (common areas, lounge, kitchen) are ok. NO kegs, awa, drugs, etc."

As always, check out our class website, ks2000.blogspot.com, for the lastest and greatest info and updates. You might even see info about our class T-shirt fundraiser and class night tickets ;-) Just checking to see if you really read this....lol

Aloha,
Hi All,
I hope everyone has
visited the Alumni website and purchased tickets to the many wonderful events
during Alumni Week. If you haven't, click here https://apps.ksbe.edu/par/alumni-relations-kapalama/alumni-week/
If you were not able to get Lu`au tickets, please do not let it discourage you from coming. There will be plenty of space outside of the main food tent to hang out, drink, look at booths, etc. You can still participate in our class picture and once the food is served and people start moving about, feel free to make your way under the tent for dancing and conversations with your classmates.

Thank you to those who purchased pizza last week Monday from Pizza Hut. I'll let you know when I find out our total sales earned.

Please pencil in Sunday, May 17th for our next fundraiser which is another carwash at the terminal. I'm still waiting to hear back from the school if we are "good to go" so stay tuned. We really need a ton more volunteers to make it a success this go around so please come out to help. Thank you again to those that came out for the last one! We appreciate your effort!

Shout out to Tyler Mederios who generously donated $1,000 to our class account, as well as donated to our class scholarship account. We are so thankful for his monetary contribution. This gives us a little more breathing room when planning our class night which is our number one priority right now. Thanks again Tyler!

If anyone has any items they'd like to donate for a silent auction we would like to host for our class night, please email me. It could be anything from a gift certificate/card, a painting you did, items you sewed, etc. Anything and everything is welcome!

For the Taste of Kamehameha Event, Tati came up with an awesome Smoked Meat Lu`au with Kalo/Ulu and Ho`i`o dish. Our budget for this is only $300 though please email me if you can doante any of the items listed below.
